Personal Statement
Lucrezia focuses on strategies for early foreign market entry and the role of firm leaders’ thinking and midsets. Lucrezia applies tools from cognitive psychology to surface embedded assumptions that practitioners have developed through experience in both domestic and foreign markets. This process promotes awareness of knowledge as well as knowledge gaps, which can then be evaluated and challenged.
Lucrezia has nearly a decade of experience in engaging with internationalising firms across a number of industries and sectors. She has collaborated with Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International in researching and evaluating international growth programmes such as the Global Companies Development Programme.
Lucrezia previously designed and run the Business Clinics programme, aimed at addressing the challenges of new and growing businesses in the West of Scotland. Through this, Lucrezia has helped support the creation and growth of small businesses in fragile and challenging contexts.
Lucrezia’s research has been published in Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, International Business Review and other leading entrepreneurship and internationalisation outlets. She is also the author of a series of research and evaluation reports for Scottish Enterprise, which have informed programmes designed to support international growth of firms. Her research has been presented at a number of leading entrepreneurship and international business conferences, including Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference and the world conference of the Academy of International Business.

Teaching Interests
In my teaching, as am passionate about the area of entrepreneurial mindset. We all have a mindset - a way of thinking that underpins the way we act. However, our mindsets are not always entrepreneurial. We may not be particularly creative or positive. We may not feel comfortable acting when the outcomes of our actions are unclear or uncertain. We may be afraid to try, to fail or to be judged. The good news is that mindsets can shift! My ambition is to coach students to conquer their mindset, make them more entrepreneurial.
My other teaching passion is internationalisation of small firms. Some new and small businesses have offerings that may be appealing worldwide. In my classes, students work hands-on on an international market entry plan for local and national businesses.
