Personal Statement

Md Asif Uddin Khan is currently working as a Research Assistant and perusing his PhD degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) at the University of Strathclyde, under the supervision of Professor Campbell Booth. His research area is associated with microgrid protection, control and fault analysis. His PhD is fully funded by the University through a very competitive scholarship of the Faculty of Engineering.

Before he started his PhD in December 2018, he was also associated with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh as a Lecturer from September 2015. He taught the courses relating to analogue electronics and devices, and power systems to undergraduate level students. At the same time, he was also involved with teaching activities in laboratory-based classes of the related courses.

In his BSc in EEE from BRAC University, he was awarded Vice-Chancellor Gold Medal for scoring the highest marks (on the basis of CGPA) for the class of 2015. In the duration of 2013-2015, he also worked as a student tutor for the same department in parallel to his studies. Furthermore, he was awarded multiple certificates from the Dean of the Engineering School for his outstanding semester-wise results. In 2017, he completed his MSc degree with Distinction in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. For his MSc program, he was awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Shared Scholarship.
