A presentation at American Chemical Society Division of Chemical Toxicology, 224th ACS National Meeting, Boston, Massachusetts, August 18-22, 2002. This abstract discusses the construction of cell lines that express individual members of the AKR7A family, and have tested the ability of these enzymes to protect cells against the toxic effects of a range of aldehyde-containing compounds.
