For Scottish learners, teachers, employers and policymakers, a clear understanding of SQA qualifications is important. Unfortunately, mis-understandings about attainment in these qualifications are common. This report addresses some of those misunderstandings by examining in detail the patterns of attainment in SQA qualifications in Mathematics and English over a period of more than three decades, including the recent reform of National Qualifications.
